Climate change endangers public health in Bangladesh, necessitating adaptive, data-driven, and community-focused policy reforms to strengthen healthcare resilience.

Abstract

Climate change presents a significant hazard to public health in Bangladesh, intensifying disease outbreaks, hunger, and mental health disorders, while placing additional pressure on an already vulnerable healthcare system. This study investigates the relationship between climate change and public health policies, assessing the adaptation of policy frameworks to environmental issues. The study assesses public knowledge, health risks, and policy efficacy using a sample size of 450 respondents. Research reveals that although governmental initiatives are there, deficiencies in healthcare infrastructure, financial resources, and coordination impede efficient execution. The research emphasizes the necessity for a more data-informed, community-oriented, and adequately financed public health approach to address climate-related health hazards. Recommendations encompass fortifying legislative frameworks, augmenting healthcare accessibility, and amplifying community involvement to bolster climate resilience within Bangladesh's healthcare sector.
