Purchasing and Accessing eBooks from Eman Research Academic (ERA)

How Can I Purchase ERA eBooks?

ERA’s full range of eBooks is available through our eBooks portal and our authorized retail partners. This selection continues to grow each year as we add new publications and digitize classic or out-of-print works.

  • Individuals can purchase eBooks via links provided on each book’s product page. Titles are available through platforms such as:

    • eBooks.com

    • Google Play

    • Kobo

    • Amazon

  • Libraries may purchase:

    • Archive Collections

    • Annual Collections

    • Frontlist Packages (pre-purchase of upcoming releases)

    • Flexible Collections, custom-curated by subject or theme

ERA eBook Collections are hosted on our dedicated Digital Library Platform. For institutional ordering options, visit our How to Order page. Libraries may also obtain ERA titles through third-party providers including EBSCO, ProQuest, OverDrive, and Wheelers.

Available eBook Formats

We support the most widely used digital formats to ensure reading compatibility across platforms:

  • PDF Format: Ideal for preserving the original design and page layout of each publication. Best viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader or Adobe Digital Editions.

  • EPUB Format: Optimized for small screens and adjustable font sizes. Perfect for eReaders and mobile devices.

Institutional eBook Collections are primarily delivered in PDF format for archival integrity and platform-wide consistency.

Compatible Devices and Reading Platforms

ERA eBooks are compatible with a wide range of devices and apps:

  • Desktop computers (Windows, macOS, Linux)

  • Tablets and smartphones (iOS, Android)

  • eReaders: Apple iPad, Sony Reader, Nook, Kobo, and Kindle

  • Apps: Adobe Digital Editions, Kobo App, Kindle App, and others

Free Downloads

Some titles are made available free of charge due to special funding arrangements or partnerships with sponsoring organizations. These can be downloaded directly from our website, subject to usage conditions outlined below.

Library Access Model

  • ERA’s institutional eBook collections are offered on a perpetual access basis with unlimited simultaneous users.

  • Access is IP-authenticated, including support for off-campus patrons through library IP proxies. Referring URL authentication is also available upon request.

  • MARC records are downloadable through the library’s administrative portal for cataloging support.

  • Libraries can retrieve COUNTER-compliant usage statistics (version 4.0) for both collections and individual titles.

Digital Rights Management (DRM)

ERA’s new HighWire Collections platform does not apply DRM restrictions to eBooks for institutional users. However, copyright laws remain in effect. All downloads are intended strictly for personal, non-commercial use.

We do not currently offer downloadable source files (PDF or EPUB) for permanent retention by libraries.

Conditions of Use for Digital Products

All ERA eBooks are protected by copyright. By downloading any content, users agree to the following terms:

  • Content is for personal, non-commercial use only.

  • Redistribution, systematic copying, sub-licensing, or reposting in any format is strictly prohibited.

  • You may print limited portions of a downloaded PDF solely for individual reference.

  • No extraction, translation, or adaptation of PDF content is allowed without written permission from ERA.

  • Downloading constitutes acceptance of these usage conditions.

Downloading Chapters and Full Titles

To download eBooks or chapters:

  1. Locate your desired title in the ERA catalog.

  2. Click Download or Buy Now and follow the instructions.

  3. Free PDFs will open instantly and can be saved for offline reading.

  4. Pay-to-view titles require a secure payment process via credit card (American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard, or Visa).

  5. Your purchased file will be available for download within 24 hours of purchase.

We recommend creating a dedicated folder for your eBook files. If your download is interrupted, you may retry within the 24-hour window.

Once downloaded, files remain in your possession for continued personal use, subject to copyright terms.
