Please download and carefully review the full Instructions for Authors below. Manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines will be returned for revision prior to peer review.


Manuscript Submission

Submit your manuscript online through our submission portal accessible via the Submit a Manuscript link below. Upon initial editorial screening and confirmation that your manuscript meets journal requirements, all authors will receive an email prompting them to complete mandatory forms, including:

  • Author Responsibility

  • Ethics Statement

  • Financial Disclosure

  • Copyright Transfer Agreement

This email contains a direct link to the form PDF for electronic completion.

Manuscripts within the journal’s scope undergo peer review. Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the handling editor will decide to accept, request revision, or reject. Accepted manuscripts will undergo copyediting and formatting before publication. Final proofs must be approved by the corresponding author prior to online publication in PDF and HTML formats.


Manuscript Preparation

File Formats

  • Main manuscript: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx, Word 97–2016 compatible)

  • Figures, tables, and schemes: embed after first citation in text

  • Chemical structures: preferably submitted in original drawing formats (e.g., ChemDraw CDX)

Language and Style

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English (either US or British spelling consistently applied).

  • Follow ACS Style Guide conventions for units, symbols, abbreviations, and references.

  • Use IUPAC nomenclature where applicable.

  • Define all non-standard abbreviations upon first use.

  • For biological or biomedical data, adhere to relevant standards (e.g., BioSharing, STRENDA).

  • Manuscripts should be scientifically concise, with sufficient background and focused discussion. Avoid trivial or redundant information.

  • Non-native English speakers are encouraged to use professional language editing services.

Formatting

  • Use single-column format with double line spacing.

  • Standard fonts (Arial, Times New Roman, Helvetica, Courier) recommended.

  • Number all pages.

  • Do not use footnotes.

  • Use “Symbol” font for Greek/special characters or spell them out if unavailable.


Article Types

Authors must select one article type:

  • Full Research Paper

  • Letter

  • Review

  • Book Report

  • Commentary

If uncertain, select Full Research Paper and follow the associated guidelines.


Structure of Full Research Papers

  1. Title: Clear, concise, with key terms; capitalize only first word and proper nouns; avoid abbreviations.

  2. Authors and Affiliations: Full names, numbered affiliations, corresponding author indicated with asterisk and contact email. ORCID linking strongly encouraged during submission.

  3. Abstract: ≤350 words; may be structured (Background, Results, Conclusion) or unstructured; avoid citations and uncommon abbreviations.

  4. Keywords: Five keywords in alphabetical order separated by semicolons.

  5. Introduction: Context, purpose, significance, and summary of the reported study for a broad audience.

  6. Results and Discussion: Present experimental data with minimal duplication of tables/figures; interpret results in relation to current knowledge. Sections may be combined or separate.

  7. Conclusion (optional): Highlight major findings and implications.

  8. Experimental (optional): Detailed methods enabling reproducibility; may be supplemented with Supporting Information.

  9. Supporting Information: Describe supplementary files with title, format, and purpose.

  10. Acknowledgements (optional): Credit non-author contributions and funding sources.

  11. References: Use APA style formatting; cite only relevant literature with in-text numbering in square brackets; ensure accuracy and completeness.


Graphics and Tables

  • Embed figures and tables immediately after first mention.

  • Figures and schemes numbered consecutively (Figure 1, Table 1, etc.).

  • Provide detailed captions below figures/schemes, including labels for multi-panel figures (a, b, c...).

  • Resolution: ≥300 dpi for color; ≥600 dpi for black and white.

  • Maximum width: 8.2 cm (single column) or 16.8 cm (double column).

  • Acceptable formats: SVG, PNG, CDX (chemical), TIFF, JPEG, GIF, BMP, EMF, WMF, MML.

  • Tables must be created with table tools (not tabs), numbered, with clear headings and footnotes where necessary.

  • No color or shading in tables.


Graphical Abstract

Submit separately (not embedded). Provide a concise visual summary of the article’s scope. Prepare at 15 x 5 cm size with restrained color use.


Supporting Information

Authors are encouraged to submit supplementary material (e.g., extended data, spectra, large tables) to complement the main article. Files should be ≤5 MB each and in widely accessible formats such as PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, MOV, MPG. All supplementary files undergo peer review and are published online with the article.


Corrections and Updates

Contact the editorial office promptly regarding substantive errors. Corrections require approval by all original authors and will be published if they impact the scientific interpretation.


Cover Letter and Ethical Disclosures

  • Disclose related manuscripts (submitted, in press, or previously published). Provide copies for peer review if applicable.

  • Include permission letters for copyrighted material.

  • Confirm ethical approval for human/animal research and informed consent where applicable.


Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and other forms of unethical reuse of text, ideas, or data are strictly prohibited. Manuscripts will be screened with plagiarism detection software. Violations may result in rejection, retraction, or publication bans. Authors must ensure originality and proper citation of all sources.
